How dblSpace works
dblSpace runs the warehouse. Hold your item catalog and carton definitions, model the building as a tree of location levels you define, and drive receiving and dispatch from a barcode scanner or a phone camera.
At its core is a stock ledger that only ever adds entries. Every movement is recorded, stock on hand is derived under a strict check that blocks any pick that would take stock below zero, and you can read stock by item or by location at any point in time.
Stock is kept by batch, with its lot and expiry, and a pick that names no lot takes the earliest expiry first; the Shelf life report shows what is expiring. Run stocktakes, quarantine stock with holds, handle customer and supplier returns, 3-way match supplier invoices against what was received, and pack shipments into cartons with packing slips.
Items can live in dblSpace alone or link to a dblFeature product variant, which fills in their shelf life and pack sizes. Suppliers link to dblSource, customers to dblTake and each warehouse to its dblBase site, so the warehouse speaks the same language as the rest of the business.

Warehouse items link to the product variants they represent in dblFeature, which fill in their shelf life and pack sizes.
Warehouse suppliers link to their dblSource records.
Each warehouse can link to the dblBase site it sits on.
Customers link to their dblTake records. dblTake orders arrive as shipments to pick and dispatch, and dispatch reports back to the order.
